Living the Life: Sandestin Resort
As a full-time resident of Sandestin, I LOVE all the things available without ever having to leave property. Golf carts are a common means of transportation (very eco-friendly and saves money on gas!).
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is a 2,400 acre resort with 67 unique neighborhoods. Everything from a studio condo to a 10,000 sq ft home on the Bay – literally real estate options for everyone! Offering condos, townhomes, fractional ownership, hotel accommodations, and single family homes all within one resort! Each neighborhood on property has its own architectural style and guidelines. There are rental capable (nightly rentals allowed) and non-rental (only long term rentals of either 6 or 9 months allowed).
The resort stretches from the gulf to the bay. The resort contains more than 7 miles of sugar-white beach and bayfront property, 4 championship golf courses, 15 world-class tennis courts, 19 swimming pools, a 98-slip marina, water sports such as kayaking, children’s programs, a fitness and spa center, 65,000 sq ft of meeting space and a pedestrian village with boutique shops, casual and fine dining, nightclubs and bars to name a FEW of the options!

The Annual Sandestin Wine Festival occurs in April of each year – This very popular event will be held April 24 to April 26, 2009. Wine novices are able to learn more about wines and sample from a comprehensive selection, including the finest appellations from all major producing countries in all varieties, styles and price ranges at the annual Destin wine festival. The Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic fishing tournament at Sandestin is the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast’s newest entry onto the world stage of premier marlin tournaments. This $300,000 (based on 75 boats) World Billfish Series-sanctioned event is based on 75 boats and gives serious angling teams their shot at winning a huge pay-off while receiving the royal treatment from the fishing event’s hosts and sponsors. The Nationally acclaimed ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival is currently scheduled for May 9 to May 10, 2009 in the Village of Baytowne Wharf. Stroll through the pedestrian-friendly streets of the Village as you enjoy incredible artwork from around the country, as well as wonderful food and music. The 22ndAnnual Sandestin Triathlon will be held on August 22, 2009. Over 700 participants will join in this event that includes a half-mile Gulf of Mexico swim, a 20-mile bike ride along the coast, and a 4-mile run through Sandestin’s beach and bayside community.
